It’s at this time of the year that we keep a “to do” list: Christmas parties, presents, decorations, baking, school programs, baking, presents…and it goes on and on until we are all tuckered out from the holidays.
This is when we like to take some time, to think of those less fortunate than us. Toy drives, food drives, coat drives, all come up around this time of the year to help the people who have less than us or to give a little of what extra we have. There are many organizations that are looking for help, for the giving spirit, this year. Here are a few that can benefit from what you have to give:
Western Slope Center for Children
Food Bank of the Western Slope
Many giving trees that are located in businesses and the mall
Now, you may not be able to give financially but most of these organizations also need your time. Maybe you have an hour to ring bells for the Salvation Army or can dedicate an hour to sorting food at the local food bank. There are many ways to give. Also, many businesses have trees with children’s ages so you can purchase a $10 gift so that that child may have at least one gift for the season. Giving a donation to an organization might also be a great way to give a gift to someone that has everyone. Just donate it in their name.
Search out opportunities to give and continue to give the whole year, to pass happiness along. We hope that your holiday is filled with happiness and love
Merry Christmas! !
